It is so easy to doubt God in a crisis.<\/p>\n

Is God really going to provide?<\/em><\/p>\n

Is He really going to take care of my current situation? \u00a0Or is it all up to me?\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

In his song \u201cGreat is Thy Faithfulness,\u201d Thomas Chisholm answers these questions with a remarkable image:<\/p>\n

Great is your faithfulness, O God my Father,\u00a0<\/em>There is no shadow of turning with Thee.<\/em><\/p>\n

There is no shadow of turning with Thee.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

What is a \u201cshadow of turning?\u201d When you are walking in the sunshine, you have a shadow.\u00a0 Every little motion you make is reflected by your shadow.\u00a0 Any time you turn a little to the right or left, your shadow also turns.\u00a0 And if, as you are going along, you notice that your shadow has changed, you can be sure that your direction has also shifted.<\/p>\n

When Thomas Chisholm says \u201cthere is no shadow of turning with Thee\u201d he is pointing out God\u2019s consistency.\u00a0 God is steadily walking toward the light, toward Truth, and He invites us to follow. \u00a0As we do, we are, naturally, in His shadow.\u00a0 If God were to get off course\u2014to turn to the right or left\u2014we would no longer be directly in His shadow.\u00a0 The shadow would have turned.<\/p>\n

In whatever crisis we face, we can count on God.\u00a0 He will lead.\u00a0 He will provide.\u00a0 He will see us through.\u00a0 100% of the time.\u00a0 There is no shift\u2014not even a slight one– in God\u2019s faithfulness to us.<\/p>\n

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.\u00a0\u00a0 James 1:17 NIV<\/em><\/p>\n
