So the morning after we arrived I made my own list of things to be thankful for. (Thank you Bobbi, for reminding me to be thankful.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Got to get to know\u2014and bond&#8212;with Jeanne, a fellow traveler. What a wonderful person.<\/li>\n<li>Some awesome, patient, hardworking airline folks, especially Jill and Lon with United Airlines.<\/li>\n<li>Kate from the Westin, who kept our room ready for us, despite &gt;24 hour delays.<\/li>\n<li>Two crosswords finished with my husband.<\/li>\n<li>Our luggage came on our airplane!!!<a href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/birds7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-310 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/birds7-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Birds at Hilton Head\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/birds7-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/birds7-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>My knees and other joints didn\u2019t bother me [always a concern as I gather a few more years], despite tromping from one end of the airport to the other and back again a few times.<\/li>\n<li>Exercise.<\/li>\n<li>The inner peace and calm I enjoyed almost the entire travel time.<\/li>\n<li>My husband\u2019s company, and great care for us.<\/li>\n<li>The great sense of humor of fellow travelers, which helped make the long delays more tolerable.<a href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/flower-2-magnolia-bloom.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-314 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/flower-2-magnolia-bloom-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Magnolia Bloom at Hilton Head\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/flower-2-magnolia-bloom-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/flower-2-magnolia-bloom-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Much to laugh about.<\/li>\n<li>The commitment to safety of the FAA, airlines, and airport staff, despite much pressure from us road-weary travelers.<\/li>\n<li>My own toothbrush, toothpaste and a change of clothes with me.<\/li>\n<li>Carryon bags with wheels!<\/li>\n<li>A book on my kindle.<a href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bloom-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-311 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bloom-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Blooms at the beach at Hilton Head\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bloom-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bloom-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Chargers for computer and phone, and a place to plug them in.<\/li>\n<li>A great night\u2019s sleep in cot city&#8211;thanks to earplugs, a sleeping pill, and my husband-protector, even though we were awoken by a guard at 4am and told to \u201cmove along.\u201d (Is this what a homeless person feels like?)<\/li>\n<li>I am not a homeless person.<\/li>\n<li>An oceanfront room at a gorgeous hotel.<\/li>\n<li>Low country shrimp and and of course an audience to share our travel saga with.<\/li>\n<li>A shower, a comfortable bed, and privacy.<\/li>\n<li>The drum of ocean waves as we slept.<\/li>\n<li>Room service
