{"id":264,"date":"2014-05-26T19:49:22","date_gmt":"2014-05-27T00:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/?p=264"},"modified":"2019-05-17T13:32:02","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T18:32:02","slug":"facing-failures-embracing-gods-grace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/2014\/05\/26\/facing-failures-embracing-gods-grace\/","title":{"rendered":"Facing My Failures, Embracing God&#8217;s Grace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/hot-tea.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-269\" src=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/hot-tea.jpg\" alt=\"God's love reaches into me warming me like hot tea - peace - he restores my soul\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/hot-tea.jpg 465w, https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/hot-tea-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/hot-tea-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s hard to see my own shortcomings.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to look at my ugly wounds. \u00a0But, if I desire to heal &#8211; to be restored &#8211; I must first face these flaws.\u00a0 Then, I must be still and allow the Great Physician to free me from the habits-rooted-in-lies that keep me doing the same destructive things over and over. \u00a0Sometimes God\u2019s knife must go deep &#8211; it can\u2019t be helped &#8211; to get to the root of the lie.\u00a0 The results are definitely worth it: \u00a0true healing, and with it, profound joy.<\/p>\n<p><em>Father, forgive me for my haughtiness, my rudeness, my feeling of superiority, of trying to jockey for position, or importance.\u00a0 Help me to be an <a title=\"A Prayer for the New Year\" href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/2014\/01\/16\/a-prayer-for-the-new-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">instrument of your peace<\/a>, not of my own pride.
