{"id":129,"date":"2014-02-23T00:01:18","date_gmt":"2014-02-23T06:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/?p=129"},"modified":"2019-05-17T15:20:32","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T20:20:32","slug":"breathing-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/2014\/02\/23\/breathing-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Breathing In"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have done mouth to mouth resuscitation many times in my medical career.\u00a0 I have performed it on apneic newborns, overdose victims, and heart attack sufferers.\u00a0 Like anything, mouth to mouth is pretty routine when you have done it enough, kind of like riding a bike, but it is important to know the process.\u00a0 To do it effectively, each of the following steps must be followed, and each done in sequence:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Check to see that nothing is obstructing airflow into the patient\u2019s lungs.<\/li>\n<li>Position the neck so the airway is straight, and pinch the patient\u2019s nose.<\/li>\n<li>Take a deep breath in.<\/li>\n<li>Seal \u00a0your mouth over the patient\u2019s mouth, and blow.<\/li>\n<li>Observe the patient\u2019s chest, to be sure it rises and falls.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It is amazing how effective this simple little procedure is, and how often it has saved a person\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>God breathes life into us in a different way, a more enduring way, and helps us in turn to breathe life into those around us.\u00a0 Jesus said:<\/p>\n<p><i>I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.\u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+10%3A10&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John 10:10 NASB<\/a>)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>I want to live life abundantly<\/b>, and help others to do the same, but often my efforts have seemed futile or ineffective.\u00a0 Even worse, they seemed to drain me. \u00a0This important truth is changing my life:<\/p>\n<p>In order to give love to others, I must first receive love from God. I must take a deep breath in\u2014soak in God\u2019s presence, and His love for me personally.\u00a0 The more life-giving love I receive, the more I have, and the more I have to give.<\/p>\n<p><b>Step #3:\u00a0 Take a deep breath in.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a style=\"color: #ea9629; text-decoration: underline; outline: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/todo_embrace_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-130\" alt=\"embrace God's lifechanging love\" src=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/todo_embrace_sm.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/todo_embrace_sm.jpg 250w, https:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/todo_embrace_sm-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>How does one take a deep breath in of God\u2019s presence and love?<\/p>\n<p>This is what has worked for me so far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make space in my life to be still and quiet, usually in the early morning.<\/li>\n<li>Remember that everything in life, including life, is a gift from the father above.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on the fact that God is with me, and within me, and loves me, and is taking care of me.<\/li>\n<li>Thank God for who He is, what He is doing, what He has done, and what He will do.<\/li>\n<li>Listen for His still small voice in the morning.<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of the many ways He chooses to communicate with me throughout the day.<\/li>\n<li><b>Make it your number one priority<\/b>.\u00a0 This is probably the most important suggestion I can give.\u00a0 On your \u201cto do\u201d list, put this item at the top every day:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Be loved.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Be loved.<\/p>\n<p>Breathe in God\u2019s life-giving love every day.<\/p>\n<p>It is the most important thing you can do.<\/p>\n<p>His love will give you the joy-filled life you so desire.\u00a0 In turn He will empower you to breathe life into those around you.<\/p>\n<p><i>We love, because He first loved us. \u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+john+4%3A19&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 John 4:19\u00a0NASB<\/a>)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. \u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=job+33%3A4&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Job 33:4\u00a0NASB<\/a>)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us.\u00a0 God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. \u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+john+4%3A16&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 John 4:16 NASB<\/a>)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cI have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness.\u201d \u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=jeremiah+31%3A3&amp;version=NASB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeremiah 31:3b NASB<\/a>)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>Share with us:\u00a0 How have you learned to breathe in God\u2019s presence and love every day?\u00a0 What works for you?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/deepbreath_sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-131\" alt=\"God breathes life into us\" src=\"http:\/\/belovedlove.org\/reflections\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/deepbreath_sm.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have done mouth to mouth resuscitation many times in my medical career.\u00a0 I have performed it on apneic newborns, overdose victims, and heart attack sufferers.\u00a0 Like anything, mouth to mouth is pretty routine when you have done it enough, kind of like riding a bike, but it is important to know the process.\u00a0 To [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[6,14],"class_list":["post-129","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-gods-love","tag-prayer-and-meditation"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.2 -
