We all want to make a difference.<\/h2>\n

To have meaning and purpose in our lives. \u00a0Does this really happen? \u00a0Is it possible to have some grand purpose, to know on our deathbeds that our lives had meaning?<\/p>\n

It depends.<\/p>\n

You may be like me, sometimes thinking that \u201cmaking a difference\u201d means leading \u201cfeeding-the-five-thousand\u201d type events: \u00a0God working grandly through me, for all the world to see. \u00a0Important people will see that I am important. \u00a0I am significant. \u00a0Sure, I will give God the glory, but I take secret delight in my obvious impact on the world. \u00a0Good Morning America (or Women of Faith) here I come!<\/p>\n

But God rarely works this way.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong. \u00a0He does miracles every day. \u00a0Jesus said, \u201cMy Father is always at His work in this world, and I too am working.\u201d \u00a0But much of what God does goes unseen, and unappreciated.<\/p>\n

Jesus\u2019 own life was the prime example of this. \u00a0Jesus didn\u2019t have the respect of the Important People. \u00a0In fact, Important People were threatened by Jesus, because the Truth He shared often made them look bad. \u00a0He spent his days walking from place to place, talking to ordinary folks about extraordinary truth, and, on occasion – mostly in out of the way places – working miracles.<\/p>\n

God hasn\u2019t changed. \u00a0He still walks this earth and works through those willing to follow Him, touching people with His love and truth in very ordinary ways. \u00a0A warm meal. \u00a0A kind word. \u00a0A listening ear. \u00a0A cup of cold water.<\/p>\n

And sometimes – mostly in out of the way places – He still works miracles.<\/p>\n

God has prepared good works, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10<\/em><\/p>\n
